Monopoly: Sudoku
was a complex challenge from the start: we already had a competitive sudoku game that had a very loyal group of players that would be without the game once this one launched, as well as a great group of Monopoly lovers and a very specific vision that we transposed from our Monopoly classic games. However, and since the particular audience was older, we had to ensure the game would be appealing to them too.

Besides the core sudoku games available to play, the answer we had for this challenge was to have a board inside the game, that could give some collectibles (avatars and tokens) and advantages on personal level experience.

Style Guide

MONOPOLY: Sudoku will introduce our version of Sudoku alongside the graphic style and polish feel of Monopoly. The main aspect is that this should be luxurious, classic and yet have a very clean and clear, as a Sudoku game should always be, while also maintaining the Monopoly board assets.

Frontend

In the frontend, the choice was to have three primary menus:
1) Main Menu: Contains Daily Challenges, Monopoly Board Feature and the list of Championships:
2) Profile Menu: Profile Primary Information, Player Stats and Championship Stats;
3) Active Games Menu: All types of games against players that aren't on Championships' League.

Monopoly Board

This part of the game works a little differently, since the player will have dice to roll using swipe. The player's token marks the place on the board and moves according to the number rolled in the dice. Each spot will have a reward or, in special cases, may be a set back for the player's journey.

Gameplay

The actual game works asynchronous between players, to get them to challenge each other at any time.
